2nd Club Timed Run – Sunday 3rd August at 09:30

By | Uncategorized | No Comments

Club timed run. Sunday 3rd August, 09:30, at the bottom car park, Moel Famau. The route (unmarshalled) will be straight up to the top of Moel Famau and back down to the top car park and then back to the bottom car park. This will be good for people new to fell racing and also to experienced fell racers who want to compete against other club members.

Open to club members only or those wishing to join. There will be a selection of club vests to try on as well.

Thanks, Charlotte.

Green Green Grass of Home – Wed 23rd July 2014

A blazing hot evening saw a field of 90 runners set off over a challenging course that criss-crossed the Clwydians as it made its way up, and back down, Moel Famau before branching off into through some well grown heather and bracken for one last climb before descending to a fast finish

A brilliant performance from Mary Gillie, ( Clwydian Range Runners) gave her first lady home with a time of 53:31 and 15th overall. Well done Mary !

The Druid– Wed 16th July.

Last Wednesday saw the 2nd race in the ‘Clwydian Hills Summer Trots’ series with The Druid race, starting and finishing at The Druid pub, Llanferres. Recent wet weather did not dampen the spirits as 90 runners lined up to tackle the 8Km – 366m course. There were 6 Clwydian runners out with ‘in form’ Sam Clough coming home at 38.39, Neil Coppack 39.24, Dan Hurst 39.38, James Harris 40.03, Paul Oldfield 49.30 and Susan Ridings, 2nd in her class with 53.58.  A great turnout and some great prizes to be had with four CRR members in the top 20 !  A big thanks to John Linley for organizing the race and all the marshals / helpers on the night.

Thanks to everyone who came to the timed run up and down Moel Famau on Sat 5th July.  It was good weather for running and good to see a few new faces joining the club as a second claim club.  We hope to see you on some training runs too if you fancy any hills!  Tim Higginbottom came in at 27.36mins, followed by Duncan Jones at 35.01mins and then Helen Ashworth and Jayne Penrhyn Jones crossed the line together at 37.41mins.  We plan to hold the next one on the 3rd August so put it in your diaries if you want to see if you can beat your previous time or to have a practice if you are new to fell racing.
